Traffic Patterns

The following video provides an overview of traffic patterns. This video is in relation to fixed-wing traffic, but the concepts apply. As required in 14 CFR 91.126(b)(2), helicopters are suppose to avoid the flow of fixed wing traffic.

A common practice for helicopter is to fly at 500 AGL and right traffic (or opposite of the fixed-wing traffic).

The folloiwng video expands on the traffic pattern concept.
